A PPEC is a prescribed pediatric extended care, or more simply described as a medical daycare for fragile/special needs children from newborn to 21 years old. We offer comprehensive 12 hour skilled and compassionate pediatric nursing care, including developmental therapies, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy and specialized medical transportation.
Our team is very efficient, if you feel your child needs our services, please call us, or schedule a tour where we can orient you in the right path. In general, all our children require nursing skills, so they are referred by a pediatrician, once referred we will contact your insurance with a plan of care and provide all the necessary documents to have your child join our PPEC family as soon as possible.
All children that are eligible for Florida Medicaid, are fully covered for PPEC/Medical
Daycare and therapy services as long as they require nursing interventions. Many private insurances depending on the plan may also cover services, but each situation is different. Feel free to visit us so we can help determine eligibility.
Yes! Although we are going through a pandemic a lot of our parents must work, so they
feel safe leaving their children with us. No need to worry about exposure, all our staff
from the transportation driver to the nurses and therapist wear mask and maintain
distance. We also work hand in hand with our medical director and director of nurses to
establish infection control protocols to protect our staff and children. We have extensive
cleaning procedures during the day and especially after the center closes to make sure all
areas, toys, cribs, chairs and other frequently used spaces and items are fully disinfected
and ready for the next day. We use hospital grade disinfectants to clean. One thing that
makes us different is that being the largest facilities in Kissimmee, we have all the space
necessary to provide adequate space to avoid the spread of infection.
Yes! We provide transportation to and from the center and to doctor appointments. We
also provide after-school transportation for those children that attend school in the mornings and still need to attend the PPEC for therapy or after school until their parents are home. Children are always accompanied by a nursing staff member in transport.
No. We have various infection control protocols that avoid the spread of infection. Also,
we have policies that prohibit the attendance of children that have contagious/infectious
conditions that can put our children or staff at risk. We also have an isolation room, in
case a child goes ill while being in the center, weather that means they develop a fever or an undetermined rash that may potentially be contagious, we isolate them until the parent
picks them up. While they are in isolation they are being always supervised by a nurse.
We differentiate in separating our kids based on age, development, social ability, and
conditions. We pride ourselves on the plan of care we provide to each child working in
unison with the whole team looking at each child individually to better come up with a
plan to make the child advance in every aspect. At our facility we have the ability to provide all the services under one location. We know it can be difficult and overwhelming to keep up with many therapies and doctor appointment. We are truly here to help the families in all aspects.
